DHI issues EOI inviting proposals for availing incentives under FAME India Scheme Phase-II for deployment of EV charging infrastructure within cities

The Department of Heavy Industry (DHI) on August 28, 2019, has issued Expression of Interest (EOI) inviting proposals for availing incentives under FAME India Scheme Phase-II for deployment of EV charging infrastructure within cities. Under Phase-II of the FAME India Scheme, the Government intends to support the development of EV charging infrastructure by extending the capital grant of different organizations working with city government for the promotion of the use of Electric Vehicles (EVs).

The proposals for installation of charging stations are invited from entities that intend to build and operate EV charging infrastructure in any cities falling under the following categories:

a) Million plus cities as per 2011 census;

b) Smart cities as notified by MoHUA;

c) Satellite towns connected to 7 metropolitan cities;

d) Major cities of special categories State or Union Territories (UTs)

e) Capital city of all states and UTs not covered in the above categories.

DHI invites proposals from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Municipal Corporations, PSUs (State or Central), Govt. DISCOMS and similar other public or private entities to build and operate EV charging infrastructure in different cities across the country.
