MoLE declares services of the industry engaged in the manufacture or production of oils and their blends to be a public utility service

The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) on August 28, 2019, has declared the services of the industry engaged in the manufacture or production of mineral oil (crude oil), motor and aviation spirit, diesel oil, kerosene oil, fuel oil, diverse hydrocarbon oils and their blends including synthetic fuels, lubricating oils and the like to be a public utility service for the purpose of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

Whereas MoLE has lastly declared the said industry to be public utility service for a period of six months with effect from March 01, 2019.

And Whereas, MoLE is of the opinion that in public interest the extension of the public utility service status to the said industry is required for a further period of six months. Therefore, the services of the industry engaged in the manufacture or production of mineral oil (crude oil), motor and aviation spirit, diesel oil, kerosene oil, fuel oil, diverse hydrocarbon oils and their blends including synthetic fuels, lubricating oils and the like are declared to be a public utility service for a further period of six months with effect from September 01, 2019.
