Government of Karnataka revises minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in Cotton Ginning, Pressing, and Allied Processes

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employees employed in Cotton Ginning, Pressing, and Allied Processes from April 01, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

The Categories of Employment for minimum rates of wages per month are as under:

Ø  Skilled A: Carpenter; Blacksmith; Mechanic

Ø  Skilled B: Boiler man, Volve man; Engine Driver; Fitter; Turner; Opener man

Ø  Semi-skilled: Fireman, Roll cutter, Number marker, Finishing man

Ø  Un-Skilled Workers-A: Makadam

Ø  Un-Skilled Workers-B: Watchman; Peon; Office staff; Office Boy; Sweeper; Employees engaged in Picking, Cleaning of Kappas; Mazdoor or any categories of unskilled employees not specified above Gin man.

Ø  Lorry Driver; Car/ Jeep driver; Lorry/ car/Jeep cleaner

Ø  Office staff: Manager/ Personal officer; Assistant Manager/ Assistant Personal Manager; Accountant; Cashier/ Senior Clerk, Booking Clerk; Stenographer/ Computer Operator; Storekeeper/ Receptionist/ Telephone Operator; Typist/ Data entry operator; Clerk/ Junior Clerk; Office Boy/ Peon/ Watchman/ Sweeper/ Attender.

VDA: In addition to the basic wages, all Category of Employees in the State shall be paid VDA at the rate of 4 Paise per point over and above 6537 points.
