Government of Karnataka revises minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in Cashew Processing Establishments

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employees employed in Cashew Processing Establishments from April 01, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

The Categories of Employment for minimum rates of wages per month are as under:

Ø  Shellings:

a)      Sheller: Machine (Without Electricity);

b)      Sheller: hand (With Electricity): (a) Shelling sorters and (b) Shelling scooping  

Ø  Peeling: Peeling sorters; Peeling Wholes; Peeling Pieces

Ø  Grading and Packing: Packers/ Graders

Ø  Technical and other Class of Employments:

a)      Fitters, Mechanics, Electricians, Operators Assistant Operator/ Lever operators, Fireman, Bag Carrier, Dry yards Wokers

b)      Expeller Workers, Tin Can Manufacturers / Soldering works

Ø  Canteen Workers: Cook and Coffee/ tea maker; Servers and Suppliers; Cleaners/ Helper

Ø  General Workers: Ladies Yard Workers/ Creach/ Aya’s / House Workers, Watchmens

Ø  Drivers: Lorry Drivers; Car/ Jeep Driver; Lorry/Jeep/Car Cleaner

Ø  Office Staff: Manager; Assistant Manager; Accountant; Cashier/ Supervisor; Computer Operator/ Data Entry Operator; Store keeper; Clerk; Office boy/ peon/ Attender

VDA: In addition to the basic wages, all Category of Employees in the State shall be paid VDA at the rate of 4 Paise per point over and above 6843 points.
