Government of Karnataka revises the minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in spinning mills industry

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employment in spinning mills industry with effect from April 01 to March 03, 2020.

The minimum rates of wages have been revised for certain class of employment:

1. Highly skilled Workers: Maistry and Supervisor

2. Skilled workers: Electrician, Generator operator, Turner, Welder, Cone Winder, Winding Fitter, Carding Fitter, Preparatory Fitter, Fitter Blowroom, Spinning Fitter, Fitter Ring Prewar, Swindle gaggers, Sweeper, Presser, Stripper, Stitcher and any other, Driver.

3. Semi-skilled: Carding assistant, assistant fitter, yarn conditioner, carding worker, simplex tentors, drawing tentors, oilers, sider, resuck weavers, asst. peepers, cois grinders, buttling peepers and other semi-skilled labourers.

4. Un-Skilled Workers: Bell brusher Attender, motor attender, stitcher attender, spinning tape stitcher, blowroom attender, carding attender, comber attender, comber tentor, doffing boys, half carrier, mixing attender, mixing helper, spinning jobber, reelers, mixing mazdoors, fitter helper or helper, maintenance helper, binding worker, weigher, waste pickers, mazdoors, helper cum winder, cleaning gang, cleaner, watchman, sweeper and any other unskilled labourer.

5. Office staff and Drivers: Manager / Personal Manager, Accountant, stenographer, cashier, clerk, typist, store keeper, Office Boy / Peon / Watchman / Attender.

In addition to the basic wages, all category of employees in the state will be paid V.D.A at the rate of 4 paisa per point over and above 3944 points.
