Government of Karnataka revises the minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in Sericulture units and processes Part-I

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employment in Sericulture units and processes Part-I with effect from April 01 to March 03, 2020.

The minimum rates of wages have been revised for certain class of employment:

1. Skilled workers: Admixtures of chemicals & fertilizers, Spraying of chemicals and fertilizers and chemical treatment.

2. Semi-skilled workers: Separation of cross breeding of cocoons, work relating to separation of sex Pairing, work relating to eggs laying, De-pairing, Chemical treatment of the egg sheet to keep it hygienically, Disinfection of cabin, Chopping worm rearing and nourishing with chemicals, Delicate work of moulding, Putting the worms to the Bamboo trays harvesting, Unloading the baskets containing cocoons in the market, After the auction filling it up in the basket and taking it to the weighing bridge, Weighing / load and unloading, Digging, Ploughing Harrowing, Mounting, Prone Cutting, Preparation of nursery bed, Ridges and ferrow, Water Management and other semi-skilled works.

3. Un-skilled workers: Uprooting, Picking of leaves

4. Office staff and Drivers:

 Manager / Personal officer, Marketing manager / office supervisor and similar post

 Assistant Manager / Assistant Personal Manager, Senior Accountant and similar post

 Senior clerk, cashier, judgment writer, stenographer, store keeper, receptionist, and similar post

 Junior clerk, booking clerk, computer operator, typist, telephone operator, data entry operator and similar post

 Attender, watchman, lift operator , office boy, peon, helper or assistant, dalayat, majdur, sweeper and similar post;

 Heavy vehicle driver, tractor driver, multi axel and earth movers drivers, crane vehicle drivers, road roller and construction of road related vehicle drivers;

 Car driver, jeep driver, light vehicle drivers;

 Tum tum, three wheeler vehicle drivers.

In addition to the basic wages, all category of employees in the state will be paid V.D.A at the rate of 4 paisa per point over and above 6537 points.
