Government of Karnataka revises minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in Wood Timber Depots

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employees employed in Wood Timber Depots from April 01, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

The Categories of Employment for minimum rates of wages per month are as under:

Ø  Highly Skilled: Foreman; Supervisor

Ø  Skilled: Maistry; Sawman; Electrician; Lathe operator; Boiler operator; Mechanic; Carpenter; Blacksmith; Turner; Elder; Moulder; Cutter; Fitter; Plant operator; Operator band saw and resaw operator; Polisher; Saw sharper; packing cases saw operator; Crane operator or Cross cutting machine operator and other skilled workers

Ø  Semi Skilled: Hand Sawyer; Making wood nice machine operator; Cross Cutter; Packer (Packing of wooden Box); Making of packing box; Saw operator helper; Log helper; Other semi-skilled workers

Ø  Unskilled: Assistant/ Helper; Cartman/ saw dust remover; Mazdoor; Timber Carrier; General Helper; Bundling, packing, Loading and unloading workers; Head load workers; band saw, see saw and circle saw helper/ watchman and other unskilled workers

Ø  Driver/ Cleaner: Lorry Driver; Car/ Jeep Driver; Lorry/ car/ jeep Cleaner

Ø  Office Staff: Manager/ Personnel Officer; Assistant Manager/ Assistant Personnel Manager; Accountant; Cashier/ Senior Clerk; Stenographer/ Computer Operator; Store Keeper/ Telephone Operator; Typist/ Data Entry Operator; Clerk/ Junior Clerk; Clerk/ Junior Clerk; Watchman/ Security Guard; Office boy/ Sweeper/ Attender.

VDA: In addition to the basic wages, all category of Employees in the State shall be paid VDA at the rate of 4 Paise per point over and above 6205 points.
