Government of Karnataka revises minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in Tobacco Processing Industrie

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employees employed in Tobacco Processing Industries from April 01, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

The Categories of Employment for minimum rates of wages per month are as under:

Ø  Highly Skilled: Gazeman and other highly skilled works

Ø  Skilled workers: Fuel man graders other skilled works.

Ø  Semi-Skilled: Packers, general workers leaf sewkar (per role)other skilled works

Ø  Un-Skilled Worker: Cleaner/Helper; Attender/ Sweeper; Unskilled other workers

Ø  Office Staff and Drivers:

a)      Manager/Personal Officer; Marketing Manager/ Office Supervisor and similar post;

b)      Assistant Manager/ Assistant Personal Manager, Senior Accountant and similar post;

c)       Senior clerk, Cashier, Judgment writer, Stenographer, Store keeper, Receptionist, and similar post;

d)      Junior Clerk, Booking Clerk, Computer Operator, Typist, Telephone Operator, Data Entry Operator and similar post.

e)      Attender, Watchman, Lift Operator, Office Boy, Peon, Helper/ Assistant, Dalayat, Majdur, Sweeper and similar post;

f)       Heavy Vehicle Driver, Tractor Driver, Multi Axel and Earth Movers Drivers, Crane Vehicle Drivers, Road Roller and Construction of Road Related Vehicle Drivers;

g)      Car Drivers, Jeep Driver, Light Vehicle Drivers;

h)      Tum Tum, Three Wheeler Vehicle.

VDA: In addition to the basic wages, all Category of Employees in the state shall be paid V.D.A. at the rate of 4 Paisa per point over and above 6537 points.
