Government of Karnataka revises minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in Automobile Engineering

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employees employed in Automobile Engineering (including Manufacturing, Assembling, Body Building, Servicing and Repairing Works) from April 01, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

The Categories of Employment for minimum rates of wages per month are as under:

Ø  Highly Skilled: Foreman; Supervisor Assistant Foreman

Ø  Skilled workers: Turner; Fitter; Mechanic; Welder; Electrician; Time keeper; Carpenter; Painter; Blacksmith; Tin-Smith; Upholstery Man; Machinist; Vulcanizer; Other Skilled worker.

Ø  Semi-Skilled: Assistant Fitter; Assistant Electrician; Assistant Blacksmith; Assistant Welder; Assistant Carpenter; Assistant Turner; Assistant Greaser; Assistant Oilman; Assistant Painter; Salesman; Assistant Mechanic; Learners or Apprentice; Assistant Tinker; Tyre Fitter; Others Semi-Skilled Worker

Ø  Un-Skilled Worker: Cleaner/Helper; Attender/ Sweeper; Unskilled other workers

Ø  Drivers: Lorry Driver; Car/Jeep Driver; Lorry/Car/Jeep Driver

Ø  Office Staff: Manager/Personal Officer; Assistant Manager/ Assistant Personal Manager; Accountant; Cashier/ Senior Clerk; Stenographer/ Computer Operator; Store keeper/ Telephone Helper; Typist/ Data Entry Operator; Clerk/ Junior Clerk; Office Boy/ Peon/ Watchman/ Sweeper Attender.

VDA: In addition to the basic wages, all Category of Employees in the state shall be paid V.D.A. at the rate of 4 Paisa per point over and above 6205 points.
