Government of Karnataka revises the minimum rates of wages and VDA for the employment in Urban Local Bodies and Panchayath Rai Institutions

The State Government of Karnataka has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employment in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), and Panchayath Rai Institutions (PRIs) with effect from April 01 to March 03, 2020.

The minimum rates of wages have been revised for certain class of employment:

1. Chemist supervisor (Sanitary)

2. Clerk / computer operator / data entry operator / tax collector / electrician/ lab technician/ assistant librarian

3. Driver cum operators- U.G.D / J.C.B. Compact machine/ sweeping machine

4. Drivers of lorry /bus/ tractor / jeep / car

5. Cleaners

6. Pump operator, mechanic, balawadi workers, plumbers, horticulture assistant, pump repairer, water man, valveman

7. Peons/ attender / gardener / dafedar / cremetorium watchman / watchman office and premises cleaning other unskilled category

8. Sweeping the roads, sewerage, bathroom and latrines cleaning with the help of machines segregating loading and unloading of wastes.

In addition to the basic wages, all category of employees in the state will be paid V.D.A at the rate of 4 paisa per point over and above 6205 points.
