West Bengal Government specifies minimum rates of wages in the employment of rice mills

The West Bengal Labour Commissioner specifies the minimum rate of wage in the employment of rice mills in the State of West Bengal, which will be effective for a period from July 01, 2019 to December 31, 2019.

Category of Employees

Monthly Minimum Rate of Wage

Unskilled

Rs. 6315.00

Semi-skilled

Rs. 6947.00

Skilled

Rs. 7643.00

Highly Skilled

Rs. 8408.00

The classification of employees is as follows:

 Unskilled: Coolie of all types such as coolie for loading, unloading, stacking, marking, boiling, bagging, unpacking, weighing, drying paddy, sewing, haller-coolie, chatal coolie, peon, bearer, durwan and similar other workers;

 Semi-skilled: Hushman, Khalasi and similar other workers;

 Skilled: Mistry, mechanic, fitter, Tindal or engine driver, machineman or hallerman, fireman, boiler attendant and similar other workers;

 Highly Skilled: sardars, sardarnies, supervisors, accountant, cashier and similar other workers.
