West Bengal Government specifies minimum rates of wages in the employment of Hotels and Restaurants including Boarding Houses, Eating Houses, Canteens, Clubs and Guest Houses

The West Bengal Labour Commissioner has specified the minimum rates of wages in the employment of Hotels and Restaurants including Boarding Houses, Eating Houses, Canteens, Clubs and Guest Houses not more than 20 persons which will be effective for a period from July 01, 2019 to December 31, 2019.

Unskilled

Rs. 8177.00

Rs. 7176.00

Semi-skilled

Rs. 8996.00

Rs. 7891.00

Skilled

Rs. 9895.00

Rs. 8681.00

Highly Skilled

Rs. 10884.00

Rs. 9551.00

The classification of employees is as follows:

Ø  Unskilled: Table boy, Kitchen helper, Sweeper/cleaner and Housekeeping boy, Waiter, Security Guard;

Ø  Semi-skilled: Tea maker, Steward, Cook, Ice-cream maker;

Ø  Skilled: Senior cook, Receptionist, Cash Sarkar, Store Keeper, Junior Clerk/ Typist, Computer operator;

Ø  Highly Skilled: Kitchen Master, Head Cook, Cashier, Accountant, Senior Clerk.
