West Bengal Government specifies the minimum rates of wages in the employment of Cinema Industry

The West Bengal Labour Commissioner specifies the minimum rate of wage in the employment of Cinema Industry for Cinema House Exhibition, Distribution Side and Production Side, which will be effective for a period from July 01, 2019 to December 31, 2019.

Zone A

Unskilled

Rs. 8177.00

Rs. 7175.00

Semi-skilled

Rs. 8996.00

Rs. 7892.00

Skilled

Rs. 9895.00

Rs. 8681.00

Highly Skilled

Rs. 10884.00

Rs. 9550.00

The classification of employees is as follows:

Ø  Unskilled: Peon, Bearer, Maid-servants, Sweeper, Poster Boys, Durwans, Watchman, Shifter, Dispensers, Bar-attendants, Chocolate Boy, Soda Fountain Hamal, Mali, Traffic, Linesman or any other employee engaged in a similar nature of unskilled work by whatever name called.

Ø  Semi-skilled: Usher, Doorman, Liftman, gate-keeper, Fireman, Assistant Painter, Assistant Carpenter, Assistant Polishwala, MCOT (Member of Customer Dealing Team), Ticket Seller, Food/Snacks Seller or any other employee engaged in a similar nature of a=semi-skilled work by whatever name called.

Ø  Skilled: Assistant Engine Driver, Electrician, Operator, Projectionist, Polishwala, Painter, Carpenter, Caretaker, Telephone Operator, Soda Fountain Manager, Bar Manager, Booking and other Clerks, Cashier, Publicity Officer, Engine Driver, 1st Assistant/A.C. Operator, 1st Assistant Operator or any other employees engaged in a similar nature of skilled work by whatever name called.
