Draft Employees' State Insurance (Central) Amendment Rules, 2019

The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) on June 24, 2019, has published the Draft called ‘Employees' State Insurance (Central) Amendment Rules, 2019’, to further amend the Rule 61-A of the Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Rule, 1950, which specifies the Income limit of dependant parents for eligibilty to medical benefit.

Existing Rule 61-A: The income of dependant parents for eligibility to medical benefit under sub-clause (v) of clause (11) of section 2 of the Act from all sources should not exceed five thousand rupees in a month.

Amended Rule 61-A: The income of dependant parents for eligibility to medical benefit under sub-clause (v) of clause (11) of section 2 of the Act from all sources should not exceed Nine thousand rupees in a month.

The Draft Rules will be taken into consideration after thirty days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette that is June 24, 2019.
