Draft Tripura Factories (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2019

The Tripura Labour Department on June 12, 2019, has published the Draft Tripura Factories (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2019, to further amend the Tripura Factories Rules, 2007 for better management of safety and hygiene at workplaces for every working man and woman in the factories.

The Tripura Labour Department, invites Objections and suggestions on the Draft Rules from persons likely to be affected within a period of forty-five days from the date of publication of the Notification in the Tripura gazette.

The amendments are as under:

Ø  Under Rule 52 which specifies the provisions for Latrine accommodation, the following new clauses shall be inserted as follows:

a)    Clause c: Sanitary Napkins of adequate quantity, conforming to Indian Standards shall be provided and maintained in the female toilets for their use, and the same replenished on daily basis.

b)     Clause d: Disposable bins with lids shall be provided within the women's toilets for the collection of the used napkins. The used napkins shall be disposed off as per the procedure approved by the Chief Inspector, by order.

Ø  Rule 115 which specifies the Protective Equipments has been substituted.
