The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on May 06, 2019, has published the Draft Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Recruitment, Control and Service Conditions of Staff) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2019 to further amend CERC (Recruitment, Control and Service Conditions of Staff) Regulations, 2007.

The Amendments are made in:

 Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations which specifies about “Sanctioned Strength and Pay Scales” has been substituted. The sanctioned posts in the Commission shall be categorized in different pay scales, indicating the corresponding levels in the Central Government against each category.

 Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations has been substituted which specifies about the appointments against the sanctioned posts in the Commission may be made either through direct recruitment or on short-term contract basis or on Deputation on Foreign Service terms or on promotion. 

 Appendix-III has been substituted which specifies the eligibility criteria for appointment on promotion basis.
