The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) on May 31, 2019, has issued the Delhi Electricity Supply Code and Performance Standards (Relaxation) Second Order, 2019, in respect of the provisions for raising demand note and payment of charges for release of electricity connection

Payment of Demand Note for release of electricity connection in first Bill for applicants taking supply at LT level:

(1) The distribution licensee shall raise the demand note to the applicant for release of electricity connection at LT supply level in the first electricity bill.

(2) The applicant shall be required to pay the demand note for release of electricity connection within the due date as mentioned in the electricity bill.

(3) In case the electricity bill is not paid by the applicant within the due date, the licensee shall disconnect the electricity connection as per the provisions of the Regulation 51 of the Regulations.   

This order has come into force on May 31, 2019.
