UGC introduces security features in mark sheets and certificates

Jun 03, 2019 | by Avantis RegTech Legal Research Team

The University Grants Commission (UGC) on May 24, 2019 issues a letter regarding security features in mark sheets and certificates. Earlier UGC had requested to introduce security features in the mark sheets and certificates issued by the university to students, which is useful for the purposes of verification and curbing duplication. In continuation with that, it is further requested to introduce identification mechanisms like photograph of the student, hologram of the institute and QR Code in students’ certificates and also inscribe the name and place of the institution in which the student has studied, as well as, the mode of delivery of the programme.

It is important that these details are mentioned correctly on the academic certificates which are used by students throughout their lives for various purposes and ends.
