The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on May 13, 2019, has modified the existing Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS) for Fortified Food (+F) endorsement.

However, it has been decided that the provision for endorsement of +F in FSSAI License through online FLRS will be made available to those Food Business Operators (FBOs) who have FSSAI License for manufacturing or processing kind of business in the following food product categories:

a)      Milk

b)      Rice, Wheat Flour and Maida

c)       Salt

d)      Oil

While making application for endorsement of the forfeited food in FSSAI license, FBO are also required to upload Commodity test reports (from FSSAI notified NABL Labs) to substantiate the claim made for fortification of the food. Endorsement Certificate of Fortified foods (+F) to valid FSSAI License will be auto-generated. Further, FBOs who have already applied for endorsement of fortified products will reapply and upload Commodity test reports against each fortified product.
