Delhi Urban Development Department amends the Unified Building Bye Laws for Delhi 2016

The Delhi Urban Development Department on May 27, 2019, has amended the Unified Building Bye Laws (UBBL) for Delhi 2016.

Whereas the Unified Building Bye Laws (UBBL) for Delhi 2016 has came into force on June 17, 2016 vide Notification No.F.5(189)/AD/LB/2016/5396-5403.

However, the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi amends and makes these Bye Laws to be applicable to the area under jurisdiction of the concerned local bodies i.e. East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation & South Delhi Municipal Corporation with following amendments/modifications:

A.In clause 1.5.3 of Chapter 1 which specifies the applicability of Bye-Laws if use of a building is changed, of Unified Building Bye Laws for Delhi 2016, following be inserted:

“Provided that the authority may insist for providing certain measures as specifically provided in these by-laws in respect of existing buildings whether approved or otherwise for the safety of people.”

B.Clause 7.31 has been inserted after clause 7.30 of Chapter 7 which specifies the General building requirements or provisions of Unified Building Bye Laws for Delhi 2016.
