SEBI issues framework for the process of accreditation of investors

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on May 22, 2019, issues a framework for the process of Accreditation of Investors (AI) for the purpose of Innovators Growth Platform and to protect the interests of investors in securities and to promote the development of, and to regulate the securities market. 

The accredited investors are the investors, whose holding in the issuer company is eligible for the computation of at least 25% of the pre-issue capital in accordance with SEBI (ICDR) Regulations, 2018. SEBI has specified the eligibility criteria, the procedure for accreditation, validity of accreditation and the responsibility of merchant bankers at the time of listing on IGP with regard to AIs.
