Guidelines for settlement of claims for compensation on accidents applicable to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on May 02, 2019, with the approval of the Competent Authority, has framed the Guidelines for settlement of compensation claims arising out of accidents resulting into loss of life or permanent disability to a member of general public where the accident happens in any premises where any official activity of the Ministry is being carried out. These Guidelines will be called as “Guidelines for settlement of claims for compensation on accidents” applicable to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The guidelines will be effective from May 05, 2019.

On the occurrence of any accident, the Department will be liable to pay compensation, whether or not there has been any wrongful act, neglect or default on its part. In the event of death or permanent disability resulting from loss of both limbs (Rs.10,00,000/-) and in the event of permanent disability (Rs.7,00,000/-).
