Non-requirement of submission of Hard Copy of application at RAs for issue of Advance Authorisation and EPCG Authorisation

May 15, 2019 | by Avantis RegTech Legal Research Team

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on May 15, 2019, has created an ‘Upload Document’ facility in the Advance Authorisation (AA) and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) ECOM modules, so that exporters will not be required to submit hard copy of the AA or EPCG application and its related documents to the DGFT Regional Authority (RA).

However, DGFT observed that almost every RA asks for the hard copy the application and AA or EPCG is processes on receipt of hard copy only. Main reason was that, facility to upload documents in the online ECOM application was not available.

To remove the time lag between online application and receipt of hard copy in the DGFT RA, NIC has now created an ‘upload document’ facility in the AA and EPCG ECOM modules.

Therefore, with effect from May 20, 2019, all exporters filing online AA and EPCG applications will, in addition, need to upload supporting documents also as prescribed in ANF or FTP or HBP.
