Maharashtra Government provides facility of Registration under PT Act, MVAT Act and CST Act through MAITRI Portal of Industries Department

The State Government of Maharashtra on March 31, 2019, has issued a Trade Circular for providing facility to all applicants for Registration under Maharashtra State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1975 (PT Act) Maharashtra Value Added tax Act, 2002 (MVAT)  and Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 (CST) through MAITRI Portal of Industries Department.

MAITRI Portal is helpful for ease of doing business in India and Maharashtra. This portal allows investors seek clearances, apply for Registrations/Services, of various Departments/Agencies of the Government of Maharashtra, required for establishment and operation of ventures, through a single window.

It is to be noted that if email ID is already used while registering in MAITRI Portal in respect of a Taxpayer, then such email ID cannot be used again for the registration of another Taxpayer through MAITRI Portal.

If mobile number and email ID is already used while obtaining registering under PT Act / MVAT Act / CST Act of a Taxpayer, on the portal of MGSTD (https://mahagst.gov.in.), then such mobile and / or email ID cannot be used again for registration under any of the above Acts in respect of another Taxpayer through MAITRI Portal.

Procedure for obtaining registration under PT Act / MVAT Act / CST Act through MAITRI Portal has also been given in the Trade Circular (Page 2).
