Exemption from renewal of Shops and Establishment Registration in Madhya Pradesh

The State Government of Madhya Pradesh has made amendments in Madhya Pradesh Shops and Establishments Rules, 1959. 

As per the amendments:

• The Rule 4 of the Rules, 1959 has been substituted, where the registered certificate granted under the provision of the Act shall remain valid till the date of closure as notified by employer.

• Rule 5 has also been substituted, where every registered certificate under the provision of the Act shall be issued on payment of fee specified below for that class of establishments.

All establishments having more than three employees


All the employers who have obtained registration before February 15, 2014 shall compulsorily obtain registration after the amendments of these rules.

• In the proviso of Rule 6, for the words “Registration or renewal”, the word “registration” shall be substituted.
