Draft Aircraft (Amendment) Rules, 2019

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has published Draft Aircraft (Amendment) Rules, 2019, to further amend the Aircraft Rules, 1937 and to inform all persons likely to be affected thereby.

The draft rules will be taken into consideration after a period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette of India, in which the notification has been published, are made available to the public that is March 22, 2019. Objections or suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Opposite Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi-110003 or mailed to [email protected].

The following amendments in the Aircraft Rules, 1937, are as under:

•Under Rule 67A (4) (b) which specifies the provisions regarding maintenance of log books of flight crew personnel and logging of flight time, for the words “Chief Flying Instructor”, the words “Chief Flying Instructor or Deputy Chief Flying Instructor, or if both posts are vacant, by any other person authorised by Director-General” has been substituted.

•Under Schedule XI which provides Grant of permission to operate schedule air transport services, in paragraph 15 (2) (e), for the word “transport”, the word “operator” has been substituted.
