Draft FSS (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2019

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has published a draft of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2019 to further amend the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.

The Draft Regulations is published to inform all the persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is given that the draft regulations shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Official Gazette in which the notification is published are made available to the public that is March 15, 2019.

The following amendments in the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, are as under:

Under Regulation 2.3. relating to “FRUIT & VEGETABLE PRODUCTS”:

•The Sub-Regulation 2.3.21 relating to “Squashes, Crushes, Fruit Syrups/Fruit Sharbats and Barley Water” will be substituted;

•The Sub-Regulation 2.3.24 relating to “Synthetic Syrup or Sharbat” will be substituted.
