IRDAI advises Insurers to file reinsurance programme, offline returns and statements to the Re-insurance Department

On January 15, 2019 Insurance Regulatory And Development Authority of India (IRDAI) notified that IRDAI (Re-insurance) Regulations, 2018 which stands effective from January 1, 2019. The previous Regulations that is, IRDAI (General lnsurance- Reinsurance) Regulations, 2016 and IRDA (Life lnsurance- Reinsurance) Regulations, 2013 are repealed. Regulation of 2018 will be applicable to all Life insurers, General lnsurers, Health lnsurers, lndian Reinsurers, Branches of Foreign Reinsurers (FRBs), Lloyd's lndia Syndicates/Service Cos, IIOs, Exempted lnsurers and lnsurance Pools.

The reporting forms are under revision and the BAP module is under modification. It is advised to continue filing of the BAP returns through BAP modules as per the existing practice. And the insurers are also adviced to file reinsurance programme, offline returns and statements to the Re-insurance Department. The mail id of the department is [email protected].
