TRAI issues "Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference (Amendment) Regulations, 2018 (10 of 2018)"

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on December 21, 2018 has issued Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference (Amendment) Regulations, 2018 (10 of 2018).

Clause (e) of sub-regulation (2) of regulation 1 which specifies Short title and Commencement of "Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018" has been amended:  

a)      Regulation 24 which specifies Distributed Ledger(s) for Complaints of these regulations shall come into force with effect from the 31st day of January, 2019.

b)      Regulations 26 which specifies the provisions regarding Record keeping and reporting, 27 which specifies Consequences for the Originating Access Provider (OAP) failing to curb the unsolicited commercial communications sent through its network(s) and sub-regulations (1), (2), (3) and (4) of regulation 25 which specifies Complaint Mechanism of these regulations shall come into force with effect from the 28th February, 2019.
