DGFT issues List of Capital Goods Permitted and Not Permitted for Import under the EPCG Scheme

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on December 18, 2018 has issued the list of capital goods not permitted/ permitted for imports under the EPCG Scheme and made amendment in Appendix 5F of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2015-20, notified vide DGFT’s Public Notice No. 47/2015-20 dated December 06, 2017.

After Sr. No. 12, the following shall be added:


Pre-fabricated Polyurethane Foam (PUF) panels/ doors

Permitted for use in (i) Chilled Rooms and (ii) Cold storages Set up by the processing units for storage of pre-frozen and frozen marine products respectively, meant for exports under EPCG Scheme.


Furniture and fixtures, flooring materials and furnishing materials.

Permitted for hospitals.


Effect of the Public Notice: Imports of PUF panels/doors for chilled rooms/ cold storages and furniture and fixtures etc. for hospitals are allowed under EPCG.
