Chhattisgarh Government extends the time limit of Assessment Proceedings for the year 2015-16 for Dealers whose Turnover is more than Rs. 1 Crore

The Chhattisgarh Government is of the opinion that the assessment proceedings of dealers liable to pay tax under the Chhattisgarh Value Added Tax Act, 2005, the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 or the Chhattisgarh Sthaniya Kshetra Me Mal Ke Pravesh Par Kar Adhiniyam, 1976 which have to be completed by the end of the calendar year 2018 as per Chhattisgarh Value Added Tax Act, 2005, but it has been not completed within the prescribed period despite all possible efforts being made by the authorities.

Hence, in order to enable the assessing authorities to complete such proceedings on merits the Government of Chhattisgarh has decided to extend the time limit for the completion of such proceedings.

Therefore, the State Government of Chhattisgarh, on December 10, 2018, has extended the period for completion of every such assessment proceedings under various Acts from December 31, 2018 to December 31, 2019 in respect of every such dealer whose turnover in the financial year 2015-16 exceeds Rs. 1 Crore.
