The Ministry of Labour and Employment on October 30, 2018 has published Employees' State Insurance (General) Amendment Regulations, 2018 to further amend the Employees' State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950.

Draft Regulation had been issued for inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby till the expiry of the period of Thirty days from the date on which the notification was published, are made available to the publicthat is September 09, 2018.

Objections and suggestions from any of the persons likely to be affected thereby have been considered by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Therefore, a New Regulation 96-B shall be inserted in the Employees' State Insurance(General) Regulation,1950 are as under:

Regulation 96B: SCALE OF MEDICAL BENEFIT FOR REMBURSEMENT

“An Insured Person and his family (where such medial benefit is extended to his family) shall be entitled to receive reimbursement of medical treatment in emergent condition to the extent rates prescribed and published by State Government or the Corporation or for the Central Government Health (CGHS)”.
