DGFT extends the validity period of EPCG Authorisation

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on November 16, 2018 has made amendment in Para 2.16 of the Hand Book of Procedures 2015-2020 and extended the validity period of Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Authorisation.

The following amendment in Para 2.16 which specifies the Validity Period of Authorisation/ License/ Certificate/ Authorisation/ Permissions/ Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPs):

Validity period of Import/ Export Authorisations from the date of issue shall be as follows, unless specified otherwise:

Further, the import validity period of the EPCG Authorisations which have been issued prior to the date of issuance of the Public Notice and whose validity has not expired on the date of issuance of the Public Notice shall also be extended to 24 Months from the date of issuance of the Authorisation. The Authorisation holders are required to submit the Authorisations to the concerned Regional Authorities (RA) for endorsement.

Effect of the Public Notice:

The Validity period for EPCG Authorisations has been extended from 18 months to 24 months.
