Notification giving provisions of Online Submission and E-Payment under Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1971 rescinded

The Ministry of Labour and Employment had issued a notification vide number S.O.4259 (E) dated September 04, 2018 stating that under Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Central Rules, 1971:

(i)          any application for registration or licence may be submitted online on Shram Suvidha Portal of the Ministry of Labour and Employment;

(ii)               any fee or security deposit shall be made by e-payment;

(iii)              any acknowledgement or information relating to the matters specified in clause (i) and (ii) above shall be generated electronically on the Shram Suvidha Portal of the Ministry of Labour and Employment;

(iv)         the certificate of registration or licence may be granted online on the Shram Suvidha Portal of the Ministry of Labour & Employment.

Vide the above notification, the provisions of Rules 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 28 and 38 in so far as they relate to making of applications and other incidental matters thereto offline and the payment of fee and security deposit by demand draft were not to apply to any establishment or contractors.

Now, the Central Government has decided to rescind the above notification of the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
