Consumer Protection (22nd Amendment) Rules, 2018

The Department of Consumer Affairs on September 14, 2018 has published the Consumer Protection (twenty second Amendment) Rules, 2018 to amend the fee for making complaints before District Forum of the Consumer Protection Rules, 1987.

In Rule 9A which specifies the fee for making complaints before District Forum of the Consumer Protection Rules, 1987, in the table for serial number (1) and (2) and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be substituted, namely:

Up to five lakh rupees

NIL

Above five lakh and less than 10 lakh

Rs. 200

Rs. 10 lakh and above but not exceeding Rs. 20 lakh

Rs. 400

 

The Rules shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
