The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), on September 28, 2018 has issued a circular extending the date for mandatory Ration Frequency Information (RFID) sealing in case of movement of goods under warehousing bond to November 1, 2018.

The CBIC was in receipt of references regarding Circular 19/2018-Customs dated June 18, 2018 seeking postponement in the date for mandatory RFID sealing in case of movement of goods under warehousing bond. Circular 19/2018-Customs dated June 18, 2018 specified the procedure for affixation of a one-time-lock for transport of goods to be deposited in a warehouse or removed therefrom.

The CBIC has now decided to extend the date to November 1, 2018 in order to enable establishment and procurement of seals by warehouse owners.
