Draft Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) (2nd Amendment) Regulations, 2018

The Dental Council of India (DCI), on September 05, 2018, has made amendment to the existing principal “Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations, 2014”.

Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations, 2014 state in detail the code of dental ethics, duties of dental practitioners to their patients, duties of dental surgeons and specialists in consultations, responsibilities of dental surgeons to one another, duties of dental surgeons to the public and to the paramedical profession, unethical acts, punishments and disciplinary actions.

In the “Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations, 2014”, after Regulation 8.9.6 which states the practices which will be regarded as unethical practices for a Dentist, a new regulation 8.9.7 shall be inserted  as under:

“8.9.7 Not enriching his/her professional knowledge by participating in professional meetings as part of Continuing Dental Education programs.”
