Draft Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central (Amendment) Rules, 2018 to mandate Online Registration Process

The draft rules to further amend the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central Rules, 1980, which the Central Government proposes to make, have been published on September 04, 2018 for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby.

Vide the Draft Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central (Amendment) Rules, 2018, the Ministry of Labour and Employment proposes to make the following changes:

·         The registration has to be compulsorily filed online on the Shram Suvidha Portal.

·         The payment of the fees shall be made by e-payment.

·         The Certificate of registration shall also be generated electronically. 

The draft rules will be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of 30 days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this notification is published are made available to the public.

Objections or suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Joint Secretary to the Government of India and-Director General (Labour Welfare), Jaisalmer House, 26, Mansingh Road, New Delhi-110011; Objections and suggestions, which may be received from any person in respect of the said draft rules before the expiry of the aforesaid period, will be considered by the Central Government.
