CBIC’s Circular on 24x7 Customs Clearance Facility

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) had issuedCircular No. 19/2014 dated December 31, 2014 and Circular No. 01/2016- Customs dated January 06, 2016 vide which the facility of 24x7 Customs clearance was made available at the 19 sea ports besides 17 Air Cargo Complexes.

The CBIC has now decided that the facility of 24x7 Customs clearance for specified imports viz. goods covered by ‘facilitated’ Bills of Entry and specified exports viz. reefer containers with perishable/ temperature sensitive export goods sealed in the presence of Customs officials as per Circular No.13/2018-Customs dated May 30, 2018 and goods exported under free Shipping Bills will be made available at M/s AdaniKattupalli Sea port in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This would be the 20th Sea port in the country where 24x7 facility would be in operation.
