SEBI Guidelines on Prevention of Unauthorized Trading by Stock Brokers

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), vide a Circular dated January 11, 2018 has extended the date of implementation of its previous circular dated September 26, 2017 regarding ‘Guidelines for Prevention of Unauthorized Trading by Stock Brokers’ till April 1, 2018 from January 1, 2018
SEBI vide the aforesaid Circular had prescribed guidelines for prevention of unauthorised trading by stock brokers and issued subsequent clarification vide another Circular dated November 30, 2017.
Thereafter, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Brokers Forum and Association of National Exchanges Members of India expressed the difficulties faced by stock brokers in the implementation of the aforesaid circulars and further sought extension for the implementation of the same.
In view of the above, SEBI has decided to make the aforesaid circulars effective from April 1, 2018.
