JSPCB directs all the industries running in the state of Jharkhand not to operate without obtaining consent to operate

The Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) has directed all the industries of Jharkhand that it is mandatory on the part of the industry to obtain the consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981. All such Industries which are not having valid Consent to Operate (CTO) are directed not to operate their plants/units without obtaining consent to operate (CTO) from JSPCB.

Industries running without valid CTO are liable to penal action u/s section 41 to 44 of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution), Act, 1974 and u/s 37 of Air(Prevention &Control of Pollution), Act 1981 which includes imprisonment with fine.

Application for obtaining CTO can be submitted online through "https://www.advantage.jharkhand.gov.in/SingleWindow/
