Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Sixth Amendment Regulations, 2018

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), on May 04, 2017 has notified the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Sixth Amendment Regulations, 2018.

The Sixth Amendment Regulations seeks to amend the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.

In the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, in regulation 2.4 relating to “CEREALS AND CEREAL PRODUCTS”,

(A) in Regulation 2.4.6, after clause 18, standards for the following shall be inserted, namely:

·       Durum Wheat

·       Finger Millet (Ragi)

·       Amaranth

(B) after Regulation 2.4.17, standards for the following shall be inserted, namely:

·       Sorghum Flour

·       Soybean

·       Soy Protein Products

·       Whole Maize (Corn) Flour

·       Wheat Protein Products including Wheat Gluten

·       Durum Wheat Semolina and Whole durum wheat semolina

The Sixth Amendment Regulations shall come into force from May 07, 2018.
