Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Second Amendment Regulations, 2018

The Draft of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2017, was published in vide notification of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) number F.No. Stds/01-SP(fortified & Enriched Foods)-Reg/FSSAI-2017, dated the December 27, 2017,inviting objections and suggestions from persons likely to be affected thereby, within a period of 30 days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public.

The objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft regulations have been considered by the FSSAI and now the Authority has made the following regulations further to amend the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.

In the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, in Regulation 2.9.30 related to Edible Common Salt, in clause 5, the parameter “pH value in 5 % aqueous solution” and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted.
